I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology and Genetics. During my undergraduate studies, I worked in Dr. April Weissmiller’s laboratory, where I discovered my interest in two areas: molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis and computational biology. Again, as an undergraduate student, I completed an internship at the University of California Los Angeles, working under Dr. Paul Boutros. My work there further reinforced my interest in cancer and quantitative biology. Now I am pursuing my Ph.D. in the laboratory of Dr. Ken Lau. Given my interest in combining my knowledge of experimental data collection and computational processing, I am utmost enthusiastic to continue my scientific career in a lab focused on combining multimodal data for understanding colorectal tumors and their respective microenvironment. When I have spare time away from the lab and my computer, you would find me with my family and friends having a movie or game night.
