I studied Biochemistry and Cell Biology at UC San Diego, where I gained my first lab experience on studying cardiovascular disease. I participated in a project that investigated the role of gene nmf-9 on zebrafish’s vestibular function. After that I’ve gained some industry experience where I picked up different wet lab techniques. Then I earned my master’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Johns Hopkins University, where I studied how abnormal centriole structure is related to Hydrolethalus Syndrome. In Dr. Lau’s lab, I am interested in studying how the immune system plays a role in gut microbiome using both computational skills and in vivo techniques. Outside the lab, I enjoy gaming, working out at the gym, as well as hip hop dancing.
