I graduated from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville with a Bachelor’s in Chemistry and then went on to get my Master’s in Biochemistry. My interest in research began during my senior undergraduate project in computational chemistry and continued onto my master’s dissertation in organometallic synthesis. I continued my research goals at the Hamilton Eye Institute at UTHSC under Dr. Vanessa Morales-Tirado working on Uveal Melanoma. Eventually, that lead me to Vanderbilt in Dr. Ann Richmond’s lab on cutaneous melanoma and breast cancer mouse models. Currently, in the Ken Lau lab, I work to utilize FACS and single-cell RNA-seq of colonic epithelium. Outside of the lab, I play video games, try to shrink my Rubik’s cube solve times, and a general nerd. Funded by T32HD007502.
